My name is Christoph Piefke, I am a PhD student of Frank Lechermann at 1. Institut für Theoretische Physik, Uni Hamburg. I am interested in describing the effects of strong electronic interactions in realistic materials. Therefor, the ab-initio technique of 'density functional theory' in combination with the many-body approach of 'rotationally invariant slave-boson theory' is applied. Apart from gaining insights into the challenging physics of conductance and magnetism in realistic materials, I am also interested in expanding the frontiers of the applied techniques. To relax from these tasks, I am constantly improving my Tai Chi skills.
